  • Alexandria Lactation Partners serves Alexandria, Virginia and nearby surrounding areas. Please see our “Areas We Serve” map. If you are outside of this area, we may be able to accommodate a visit with an additional travel fee.

  • Visits usually last between one and two hours, depending on the type. During our time together, we’ll go over a detailed health and lactation history, complete a feeding assessment, and do a weighted feeding if needed. From there, we’ll create a realistic care plan together, one that feels supportive and manageable for your family. We’ll also schedule any follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.

  • After scheduling, you will receive an email with intake and consent forms to complete through your patient portal (Jane App). The day of your appointment, we recommend having baby ready for a feeding (if applicable), but not “hangry” or starving. Try to feed your baby 1.5-2 hours before the appointment time. If you have a pump, have pump parts out of the box and cleaned/sterilized so that we can utilize them during the appointment if needed.

  • After your consultation you will receive a written care plan in your portal. You can also send secure messages and make follow-up appointments through your portal.

  • We require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $50 cancellation fee to the card on file. No show or missed appointments will be charged the full service charge.
